Steelers Stay Local with Latest Pre-Draft Visitor
The 2025 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the time of the offseason filled with Pro Days and Pre-Draft visits, of which they are allotted 30 for non-local prospects. They can also choose to bring in as many local prospects from the general region that they want. Getting these guys in the building helps in multiple ways. From deep-diving medical evaluations to comprehensive in-person interviews, it’s a chance for the Steelers to really get a bead on specific prospects they want to really get to know before Draft Day rolls around.
As the visiting season starts wrapping up, the Steelers continue to show interest in some of the prospects from their neighborhood. On Thursday, it was reported that the Steelers are hosting a familiar face from their own building, spending some time with Pitt Safety Donovan McMillon. McMillon’s visit does not count towards the team’s “Top 30” visits.
Let’s take a look at the prospect!

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:
McMillon wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine, but as a prospect, he does possess some NFL traits that will make him enticing to some teams near the end of the Draft or as a Priority UDFA. He has good closing speed and is a willing tackler in the box, and he does a good job using his eyes to jump routes and pass them off in zone coverage. You probably wouldn’t want McMillon as your last line of defense playing deep centerfield, but if asked to cover TEs or chase down RBs out of the backfield, he can provide enough to give him a shot to make an NFL roster. Quickest path to a roster spot would likely be Special Teams, where his tackling mechanics, size, and speed will be useful defending kickoffs. Overall, McMillon has a 7th Rd/UDFA grade but has the physical tools to become a quality backup/special teamer at some point in his career.
