Steelers set to bring in Ole Miss CB for Top 30 pre-Draft visit

The 2025 NFL Draft is approaching, and the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the time of the offseason filled with Pro Days and Pre-Draft visits, of which they are allotted 30 for non-local prospects. Getting these guys in the building helps in multiple ways. From deep-diving medical evaluations to comprehensive in-person interviews, it’s a chance for the Steelers to really get a bead on specific prospects they want to really get to know before Draft Day rolls around.

The other major benefit is for us as fans. Since these visits are limited, it really helps to narrow down which prospects and position groups are of the most interest to the team in this NFL Draft process. If a player comes for a Top 30 Visit, it’s not a smokescreen, it’s because there is real interest between the organization and prospect.

The next prospect rumored to be on the road to Pittsburgh at some point before the NFL Draft is Ole Miss CB Trey Amos. Let’s take a look at what he brings to the table in this Draft.

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:

Amos is a long, physical press corner with good size, twitchiness, and instincts at the position. Plays bump and run coverage with the best CBs in the class, getting hands on receivers early and utilizing his speed to stay in their hip pocket all over the field. As a zone corner, he can struggle with read and react assignments, especially if he gets beat early and starts to question his eyes. However, his makeup speed and fluid mirror and match abilities are clear. Welcomes contact and is an asset in run support. Overall, Amos is likely a Day 2 pick who can contribute immediately as an outside CB2 in the NFL.
