Steelers host yet another RB on a Top 30 pre-Draft visit
The 2025 NFL Draft is approaching, and the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the time of the offseason filled with Pro Days and Pre-Draft visits, of which they are allotted 30 for non-local prospects. Getting these guys in the building helps in multiple ways. From deep-diving medical evaluations to comprehensive in-person interviews, it’s a chance for the Steelers to really get a bead on specific prospects they want to really get to know before Draft Day rolls around.
The other major benefit is for us as fans. Since these visits are limited, it really helps to narrow down which prospects and position groups are of the most interest to the team in this NFL Draft process. If a player comes for a Top 30 Visit, it’s not a smokescreen, it’s because there is real interest between the organization and prospect.
The next prospect announced as a Top 30 Visit for Pittsburgh is Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson, a record-setting mid-round prospect with some intriguing traits!

Dylan Sampson visiting with the @Steelers per Tony Pauline. Fast, fluid, fun RB. Steelers continue to focus on RB with visits after already hosting K State’s DJ Giddens. https://t.co/DfYHL56N2T

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:
Don’t let Sampson’s diminutive stature fool you. This is a spark plug of a back and he has no problem bouncing off tacklers in the hole for extra yards. One of the more electric runners in the class, the Tennessee star plays with a low center of gravity and has plenty of juice. Reminds me a lot of a faster Devonta Freeman. Maybe the best vision of any RB in the class. Shows the ability to instantly read and react to blocks and defenders, shows patience letting run lanes develop, and then hits another gear when he sees an opening. Possesses homerun hitting speed if he gets into the clear. Overall, Sampson is a Day 2 prospect who should compete for starter snaps as a Rookie.
