Steelers Host Three More Prospects for Top 30 Visits
The 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are wrapping up the time of the offseason filled with Pro Days and Pre-Draft visits, of which they are allotted 30 for non-local prospects. Getting these guys in the building helps in multiple ways. From deep-diving medical evaluations to comprehensive in-person interviews, it’s a chance for the Steelers to get a bead on specific prospects they want to really get to know before Draft Day rolls around.
The other major benefit is for us as fans. Since these visits are limited, it really helps to narrow down which prospects and position groups are of the most interest to the team in this NFL Draft process. If a player comes for a Top 30 Visit, it’s usually not a smokescreen. It’s because there is real interest between the organization and prospect.
The Steelers 3 latest reported visitors play at 3 different positions, and all have differing stocks when it comes to the NFL Draft. Let’s dive into this trio:
Steelers pre-draft visitors today:
– Texas A&M OLB Shemar Stewart
– Kansas State RB DJ Giddens
– SMU DT Jared Harrison-Hunte— Mike DeFabo (@MikeDeFabo) April 11, 2025

SHEMAR STEWART
Edge | Texas A&M
Ht. 6050 | Wt. 267lbs | Junior

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:
Stewart is one of the Draft’s most athletic prospects, regardless of position. The former Aggie is a powerfully-built edge defender with elite speed and burst for his size. There is very little college production to lean on, but the concept is there with Stewart, who’s athletic profile projects him as a disruptive edge defender at the NFL level, capable of rounding the high side with his bend and burst. He converts speed to power well in the bull-rush, but he often runs out of answers if those two options don’t work right away. Overall, Stewart has the athletic profile to be a dynamic playmaker off the edge if he can learn to harness more of a pass-rush menu and prove that he’s more than a straight line athlete.
KYLE MCCORD
Quarterback | Syracuse
Ht. 6030 | Wt. 218lbs | Senior

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:
McCord has NFL size and a well-rounded skillset at the QB position. He’s not going to wow you with his athleticism and arm strength, but he’s an accurate thrower of the football and shows enough field awareness, timing, and anticipation to entice NFL teams with his “high floor” style of play. Tends to spray throws under pressure, often overthrowing receivers, especially in the middle of the field. Can work under center in an NFL-style offense or from the gun. Settled down a little bit after transferring to Syracuse, but needs to overcome the mental errors that plagued him at Ohio State more consistently if he wants to be a league starter at some point in his career. Overall, McCord is an early-mid Day 3 pick who could be a solid backup or spot starter at the NFL level.
JARED HARRISON-HUNTE
Defensive Tackle | SMU
Ht. 6030 | Wt. 290lbs| Senior

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:
Harrison-Hunte is an intriguing Day 3 option for teams looking for a 3-4 DE with pass rush upside. JHH is stronger than he is powerful, but he plays with relentless motor and has enough variance in his rush approach that he can keep blockers off balance. Not the best run defender when asked to win 1 on 1 blocking matchups, but he does have the requisite quickness to shoot gaps and bring down ball carriers in the backfield when he makes the correct reads early. Overall, JHH needs coaching and practice, but for a Day 3 prospect with the ability to get after the QB, he will be enticing to teams running a 3-4 scheme.
