Steelers host a trio of prospects with first official pre-NFL Draft visits
With the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in the books, the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the time of the offseason filled with Pro Days and Pre-Draft visits, of which they are allotted 30 for non-local prospects. Getting these guys in the building helps in multiple ways. From deep-diving medical evaluations to comprehensive in-person interviews, it’s a chance for the Steelers to really get a bead on specific prospects they want to really get to know before Draft Day rolls around.
The other major benefit is for us as fans. Since these visits are limited, it really helps to narrow down which prospects and position groups are of the most interest to the team in this NFL Draft process. If a player comes for a Top 30 Visit, it’s not a smokescreen, it’s because there is real interest between the organization and prospect.
The latest prospects announced as Top 30 Visits for Pittsburgh are Louisville QB Tyler Shough, a big-arm passer with a ton of collegiate experience, and DT JJ Pegues out of Ole Miss, a versatile and athletic interior defender. The Steelers also brought in WVU OL Wyatt Milum for a local prospect visit, which does not count against the team’s 30 designated visits for non-local prospects.
Steelers begin their pre-draft 30 visits with Louisville QB Tyler Shough, Mississippi DT JJ Pegues and West Virginia OT Wyatt Milum. Shough is a 7th-year guy coming off an excellent season and combine. Pegues can play some fullback, too. And Milum is a freebie as a local visitor.

TOP 30 VISITS
TYLER SHOUGH
Quarterback | Louisville
Ht. 6050 | Wt. 219lbs | Senior

PLAYER SCOUTING REPORT:
Shough concluded his 7th year as a collegiate QB on a high note, showcasing elite arm talent and the ability to make every throw, whether from the pocket or on the move. Shough is built like an NFL Quarterback at 6’5″ and 220lbs, but he does have an extensive injury history that forced him to miss significant portions of 3 consecutive seasons from 2021-2023. When healthy in 2024, he displayed good field awareness and the ability to go through progressions to find open receivers. He has good pocket feel and if he escapes pressure he can rack up yards as a scrambler, though his first look is still to throw the ball. Overall, Shough should intrigue enough teams to go in the 3rd or 4th Round range. He might go higher if he wasn’t already 26 years old heading into his Rookie season.
JJ PEGUES
Defensive Tackle | Ole Miss
Ht. 6025 | Wt. 309lbs | Senior

PLAYER SCOUTING REPORT:
Pegues is an agile interior defender with quick hands and feet. Relies on his quickness to defeat blocks, but can get muscled around in physical 1v1 situations. He has the ability to slide around a defensive front and flashes both pass rush and run stuffing ability regularly. Will need to develop some of the more technical aspects of the position, but teams will value his ability to affect the play in both the run and pass. Overall, Pegues is a Day 2 prospect with starter upside and can be utilized in an immediate rotational role as a Rookie.
LOCAL VISIT (DOES NOT COUNT AGAINST TOP 30)
WYATT MILUM
Offensive Lineman | West Virginia
Ht. 6065 | Wt. 313lbs | Senior

PLAYER SCOUTING REPORT
Milum is tall, athletic OL prospect whose best position in the NFL might be at Guard after measuring in with only 32-1/8″ arms at the Combine. His experience at OT in college means he could be a valuable swing lineman as a pro, though he has full-time starter upside in the right system and with good coaching. A better pass protector than run blocker at this stage of his career, although he plays with necessary aggression. Could work on setting a better base to push defenders around in the run game. Overall, Milum is an early Day 3 prospect with the potential to make a team very happy early in his career.
