Steelers Burning Question: How many trades will Omar Khan make?

Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.

Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.

We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!

I wanted to play a game of OVER/UNDER with everyone this evening. Let’s take a look at the bet:

2025 NFL Draft trades made by Omar Khan and the Pittsburgh Steelers…

I’ll set the line at .5

No, you can’t make a half trade, which means you can’t get a push.

Go back to 2023, Khan’s first draft, and he made two trades, one up and one down, during the 3-day process. Last season he didn’t execute a trade. As for me, I’m going to take the over, and say he’ll make one trade. Could he go crazy and make 2-3 trades? He could, but I don’t necessarily see it happening. I think Khan is more patient than he is aggressive.

EXTRA CREDIT: What is your favorite Steelers draft memory? For me? It’s 2004 when the Cleveland Browns took Kellen Winslow Jr., allowing Ben Roethlisberger to fall to the Steelers.

What say you?

As for what I’m eating, it’s sloppy joe sandwiches. As for drink, it’s always store bought kombucha, as usual, and the tunes will be some vinyl records I recently went and purchased!

Happy Friday everyone!!

I’m going over! I think Jeremy Jerome Betz hit it on the head where the Steelers will look to get Harmon at 21, but if they can’t, they will want to get back into the second round by moving down. A lot of value in rounds 2-4 it seems. I want Pickens to be traded as well, but I am doubting something like that happens, but who knows. Khan is due. Favorite draft memory? Honestly, haven’t really followed followed the draft until the past 4-5 years (thanks to SCN/BTSC) so anyone outside the first round I usually had never heard about before. The last 2 years getting JPJ and Frazier have been fun, since they were rumored to be the Steelers 1st round pick and they ended up being patient and get them later. Tough to beat Ben, but I was 10 when he was drafted. As for dinner, chipotle. A lot of Shane and Shane today. Happy Good Friday

I think the Steelers will look to trade down with either KC or BUF. Hopefully for 2026 capital.

Had some top quality sushi, man it was good!

Drinking Troegs Nugget Nectar, also very good.

Had the Pandora on Yacht Rock while I finished my home improvement job. Finally done!!

My gut tells me Khan really wants in that second round, so I see him making one move to do it. Sign me up for the over. How does he do it?? No clue, but it’s gonna be exciting!

My bonus answer is when they sat still and David Decastro fell in their lap – I couldn’t believe it. I loved that dude. He was a walking custom ordered great Steelers player.

I’m going over. I see scenarios for one, two, or three trades. One, if he stays put in the first. I think he will either make a trade to get into the second or he’ll look to get two in the third/ top 100. Two, if he trades back in the first because, as was pointed out to me here in another article, trading back in the first only yields a third by most value charts. Therefore, he trades back to get a third and then trade the third or the third and another pick to get up to second. I also think there’s always potential for smaller trades in the later rounds. So, I’m definitely choosing over this year.

Oops…mine is the same as Joe- when Decastro fell. I was on another site’s open thread- back when Jeff ran that one I believe- and everyone went nuts. It must have been 300 comments from everyone around the world just expressing pure, ridiculous elation.
