Steelers bringing back Isaiahh Loudermilk on a one-year deal

The Pittsburgh Steelers might not have been extremely active in the first week of NFL Free Agency, but they are still making moves in week two.

As the team tries to fill gaps on their roster, they address those team needs in a variety of ways. Sunday evening it was made known the team signed defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale in free agency. It seemed the team signed their needed depth along the defensive front.

Monday evening it was announced by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler the team is bringing back one of their own. That would be defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk.

Loudermilk was a 5th Round draft pick by the Steelers in 2021, and it made waves when General Manager (GM) Kevin Colbert traded into the 5th Round to select Loudermilk out of Wisconsin.

Loudermilk spent his entire rookie contract with the Steelers, and in 2024 played in 16 registering 17 tackles, 10 solo, and 1 pass defense.

The depth along the defensive line will likely be a battle between Loudermilk, Ekuale and second year player Logan Lee. It is also worth noting the Steelers will likely draft at least one defensive lineman in the 2025 NFL Draft.

In other words, Loudermilk signing a one-year contract doesn’t solidify his spot on the 2025 53-man roster.
