Steelers bring back wide receiver Ben Skowronek
As the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted several press conferences on Thursday for players they added from outside organization to begin the 2025 league year, there were also reports of players who were with the Steelers in 2024 returning to the steel city. After the report of Scotty Miller signing back in Pittsburgh, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports wide receiver and special teams player Ben Skowronek will be back with the Steelers in 2025.
The #Steelers are re-signing WR Ben Skowronek, source said, as he's back with PIT after playing for them in 2024. Deal done by Roosevelt and Jovan Barnes.

Ben Skowronek was a seventh round draft pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams. After playing three years in LA, Skowronek was traded to the Houston Texans but failed to make their 53-man roster for 2024. The Steelers signed Skowronek to the practice squad and elevated him for the first two games of 2024. Adding him to the 53-man roster ahead of Week 3, Skowronek instead went on the Reserve/Injured List (IR) and missed the next six games.
After returning from IR, Skowronek appeared in the next seven games for the Steelers before missing Week 17 with a hip injury. In all, Skowronek appeared in 10 games with the Steelers with one start where he had five receptions for 69 yards. More importantly, Skowronek did an excellent job as a gunner on the punt team where he had seven tackles and two fumble recoveries.
When looking at Skowronek as a wide receiver option for the Steelers, he likely would not be more than a bottom of the depth chart player. But the value Skowronek brought on special teams for the Steelers in 2024 warranted a return to Pittsburgh and a legitimate opportunity for making the 53-man roster.

Love this resigning. Big tough guy. Great over the middle (if you ever throw there). Great on teams. Good depth for the WR room.
Same!
Mason will. And does. 🙂
He looks like a TE out there. Big dude.
I absolutely LOVE this resigning! I’m just a sucker for the workman, grind it out type players. Loved watching him play last year!
This guy looked good in limited chances last year. I like this signing.
