Knee Jerk Reactions of the Steelers on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft

Knee-jerk Reactions are immediate responses to a situation without taking the time to analyze the situation. That’s something as sports fans that we typically do. Especially if you are a full blood Yinzer, or even just a part Yinzer. As is the custom, I compile my knee jerk thoughts and publish them immediately after each Steelers game. It’s my version of running my mouth first and apologizing later (or not apologizing at all). So with that being said, I’m going to employ that philosophy here during the 2025 NFL Draft.

• And the Browns pass on Sanders to start round 2.
• Browns trade their 2nd pick a few picks later.
• Man, several trades to start round 2…… funny there was so much talk of trades last night and few materialized, but tonight people are quick to pull the trigger.
• Another QB taken at 40 who was not named Sanders. Mel Kiper losing his mind.
• And a Sanders comes off the board…….T.J. Sanders that is, to the Bills.
• Will Johnson and Shedeur Sanders still on the board after 45 picks.
• We are never going to get to the Steelers pick. Not have a round 2 pick sucks.
• Cardinals snag Will Johnson…..great value for them at pick 47.
• Prime Time is probably getting pretty ticked after 51 picks.
• And the Ratbirds get another value pick for their defense.  I hate when AFCN teams get good picks.
• Two hours and 25 minutes later we finally make it through the 2nd round where the Steelers didn’t have a pick and did not move back up and give up draft capital.
• Also should mention Shedeur Sanders was not selected in the 2nd round.
• Been quiet for a while, I just want to get to the Steelers pick please.
• 75 picks in and Shedeur Sanders is still available.
• Wow….a couple picks until the Steelers……do they take Sanders if he is still there?  SCN staff is split on it.
• Steelers take RB Kaleb Johnson out of Iowa.
• Smoke screens from the Steelers about Sanders? Possibly. No complaints from me with the picks so far for the Steelers.
• Going to hold on here for a little longer, just in case the Steelers come back in to the 3rd round, even though I do not expect it at all.
• QB Jalen Milroe to the Seahawks, Sanders still on the board.
• Browns select QB Dillon Gabriel from Oregon. Wow! The NFL has soured on Shedeur Sanders.
• Back to back picks for the Raiders and they pass on Sanders…..feeling bad for the kid at this point, as he slides to day 3.

There you have it, my knee jerks. I’m going to sleep on this and see how how I feel about it in the morning.
