Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf having a throwing session is interesting
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting on Aaron Rodgers to make his decision about his plans for 2025, but it isn’t as if there isn’t any news surfacing regarding Rodgers, and the Steelers, hopes for the upcoming season.
Mike Tomlin is in Florida speaking with media during the league’s owners meetings, and while he isn’t being an open book with information surrounding the situation, he has openly talked about how he and Rodgers remain in close contact during the offseason.
That’s all well and good, but when news surfaced Monday morning that both Rodgers and newly acquired wide receiver DK Metcalf met in California this past weekend to throw…that was interesting.

Some might just brush this under the rug and say it is nothing, but it does seem odd if Rodgers chooses to get together with Metcalf just to throw the football around. This isn’t a situation where Metcalf called up Rodgers and was hoping he could just have a “catch” with the 4-time NFL MVP.
There is something more to this, and for some reason the official aspect of this move seems to remain unknown. Is Rodgers holding out on his decision to announce it at Pat McAfee’s live event in Pittsburgh in early April? It’s possible, but if it doesn’t get announced there the delay remains a mystery.
As for me, the fact Rodgers and Metcalf got together to put in some work is notable. Does it mean a deal is inevitable? No, I’ve lived long enough to not make that mistake, but it certainly is a sign Rodgers and the Steelers could be heading towards a marriage in 2025…whether fans like it or not.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the rest of free agency and the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
Maybe this is Rogers giving Metcalf a tryout. Seeing if the two had chemistry.
Rodgers wanted to see how Metcalf would respond when he told him he ran the wrong route and was responsible for the INT.
Just another Rodgers move to get the attention turned his way again!
