3 New Reported “Top 30” Visitors to the Pittsburgh Steelers

The 2025 NFL Draft is approaching, and the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the time of the offseason filled with Pro Days and Pre-Draft visits, of which they are allotted 30 for non-local prospects. Getting these guys in the building helps in multiple ways. From deep-diving medical evaluations to comprehensive in-person interviews, it’s a chance for the Steelers to really get a bead on specific prospects they want to really get to know before Draft Day rolls around.

The other major benefit is for us as fans. Since these visits are limited, it really helps to narrow down which prospects and position groups are of the most interest to the team in this NFL Draft process. If a player comes for a Top 30 Visit, it’s not a smokescreen, it’s because there is real interest between the organization and prospect.

On Wednesday, the Steelers reportedly hosted top DT prospect Derrick Harmon out of Oregon, along with another 1st Round candidate at RB in North Carolina star Omarion Hampton. They are also expected to host RJ Harvey, a highly productive RB out of UCF here in the near future. Let’s dive into all 3 prospects below:

DERRICK HARMON

Defensive Tackle | Oregon
Ht. 6044 | Wt. 313lbs | R-Junior

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:

Harmon can do a little bit of everything along the interior of the defensive line. He’s got pass rush juice and the stack and shed ability to get off blocks and shut down the run game. He crashes the party up front with his natural length and strength, and despite a lack of ultra high-end athleticism, he has the hustle to chase and tackle horizontally. Overall, Harmon is a Top 30 player in this draft with Day 1 starter upside at multiple spots along the DL.

OMARION HAMPTON

Running Back | North Carolina
Ht. 6000 | Wt. 221lbs | Junior

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:

One of the most complete RBs in the class, Hampton has the power, vision, and speed to torment opposing defenses on all 3 downs. He’ll thrive in a gap scheme at the NFL level, where he can square his shoulders and get north and south quickly. If there’s a hole, he will find it and he has great short area burst to get through gaps and on to the second level. He’s got solid awareness and pop in pass pro, and he is effective out of the backfield as a receiver. Overall, Hampton is a Round 1 caliber back who can take on a workhorse workload right away.

RJ HARVEY

Running Back | UCF
Ht. 5080 | Wt. 205lbs | Senior

Jeremy Betz’s Scouting Report:

Harvey is a shifty change of pace weapon out of the backfield, using his quick feet and compact frame to make defenders miss and bounce off would be tacklers in the open field. He’s not an elite athlete. The speed won’t wow you and he doesn’t plow through contact like some of the top backs in the class. But his vision and feel are really good, and with good blocking up front he could quickly become a difference maker in a secondary role at the NFL level. Overall, Harvey should go sometime on Day 3 and provide consistent production in a limited role as a rookie.
