2025 NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Shedeur Falls, Steelers Shock the World in 3-Round Mock
We are just days away from the NFL Draft, and anticipation is continuing to build. As rumors continue to swirl and buzz begins to grow, it is time for an updated mock draft!
I am not going to bore you with a long opening monologue this time; we are jumping straight into the thick of it. As always, these mocks are based on projection. They are based on what I could see actually happening based upon rumors and insight I have gathered. They areĀ not based on what I want or what I think the best pick would be for each team.
We will go three rounds long for this mock draft, and trades can be projected. Mock 5.0 will be a full 7-round projection. If you would like analysis for these prospects, be sure to check out my individual scouting reports, which you can find for searching the player name on the SCN homepage.
As always, be sure to share your thoughts on this mock in the comments down below!

- The Patriots and Jaguars have both done significant homework on Jalon Walker, Will Cambell, and Armand Membou. None of those three would surprise me at Picks 4 and 5.
- The Rams have tried to move up the last two drafts for a tight end, but they have failed to do so. They have shown interest in Warren, but it would require a substantial package to move up unless they find a team actively looking to move back. Carolina may be one of those teams.
- Saints HC Kellen Moore attended Jaxson Dart’s pro day while opting to skip Shedeur Sanders’. While this is not a deal-breaker, I do see a scenario in which Sanders becomes the third, or even fourth, quarterback off the board.
- The Cardinals and Vikings are both relatively low on draft capital, which makes them logical teams to trade back in Round 1.
- Jalen Milroe may seem like a shocker, but rumor within the NFL is that the Steelers could take Milroe at 21, per Tony Pauline. With Shedeur still on the board at 21, it would be pretty safe for the Steelers to trade back and still land Milroe while acquiring extra draft capital to help compensate the loss of their second-round pick in the D.K. Metcalf trade. I am not a proponent for the Steelers taking a quarterback in Round 1, but if you are going to, you might as well take the one with elite upside. A faster Jalen Hurts is a common comparison for Milroe, and Andy Weidl was in the front office that drafted Hurts. Something to keep in mind if the Steelers are feeling bold.

33. Browns- Tyler Shough | QB | Houston
34. *Vikings (projected from Giants)- Maxwell Hairston | CB | Kentucky
35. Titans- Emeka Egbuka | WR | Ohio State
36. Jaguars- Jihaad Cambell | LB | Alabama
37. Raiders- Quinshon Judkins | RB | Ohio State
38. Patriots- Josh Conerly, Jr. | OT | Oregon
39. Bears- Tyleik Williams | DL | Ohio State
40. Saints- Mason Taylor | TE | LSU
41. Bears- Oluwafemi Oladejo | EDGE | UCLA

What are your thoughts on this mock draft? Are the selections a legitimate possibility? What were your favorite and least favorite picks? Be sure to light up the comment section below with your thoughts on this and all things NFL Draft!
I will say I do think that would shock the world. Not quite an Al Davis like pick but it would be shocking
Just a tiny bit lol. It is being reported by multiple outlets now, though. So I expect this ship to only gain more steam in the next week.
I have said it in a number of different articles now and, right or wrong, I think that teams can only find a franchise QB by trying. If the Steelers actually believe that Jalen Milroe can be that player then they should draft him. If he fails then try it again a couple of years anyway. I can’t and appreciate the counter to my thoughts. This is still what I believe, though.
I agree except for one word: “if the Steelers believe Milroe
canwill be that player…” Teams get into trouble with QB when they like a QB and take them but are convicted about it. If you like a QB enough to spend your most valuable asset aside from the salary cap on, you have to have conviction about it. You have to have a definite vision for what he will do in your scheme and culture. The Giants liked Daniel Jones and took him, even though they could have gotten him at 17 instead of 6. But they didn’t want to risk the “next best thing” at QB, so they took him because they needed one. The Steelers liked Kenny Pickett, Tomlin said himself they saw him as a high-floor guy. But that level of liking a prospect is not enough to blow such valuable capital on one.
If the Steelers are convicted about a specific QB and have a definite vision as to how they will make him succeed in their scheme and get them to super bowls, sure, take that guy. But if it’s any less than that, don’t bother.
If Sanders is on the board at 21, whether I like him or not, I donāt see the Steelers trading back for a pick swap to move up 2 rounds only to settle for a lower caliber QB. That doesnāt seem to go with their thinking. If they were going to go QB, they would stay where they were and take the better one. But Sandersās actually falling to that level would shock me.
No offense, but this reminds me of the craziness you had in 2022 when you had the Steelers trading up one spot to draft Malik Willis when both Willis and Pickett were on the board. It just doesnāt make any sense where the Steelers would do this.
No offense taken lol.
This has more to do with the rumors from Tony Pauline and others saying there are significant rumors swirling that the Steelers like Milroe enough to take him at 21. It could easily change by mock 5.0 next week, but there has to be some NFL team that the league is confident views Milroe as a bonafide first-round pick. If not, they wouldn’t have invited him to attend the draft. Nobody can seem to place their finger on which team it is, but the Steelers typically do a good job of not exposing this type of information. And the Steelers are the only ones currently linked to him in the first round. So based off what I’m hearing at the moment, that was my selection. Again, it is very possible it changes by next week, and this is not what I want to happen. This is purely projection.
Wonderful response!
I agree. I also don’t have a value chart in front of me, but I have a hard time believing the Steelers would trade back 5 spots in the first for just a 3rd. The Steelers don’t historically trade back at all and, if anything, Khan is greedier than Colbert. The earlier trades in this mock seem like fleeces of the team trading up based on pick volume. This is the only one in the round that seems like the team trading back gets the weaker end. I just don’t see any reason to think that Khan would do it. I think any team in the final ten of the first that don’t come armed with a 2nd (to start with) will get hung up on. Based on team history and the GM’s history, it’s preposterous, imo.
All of these are relatively even using the Drafttek Trade Value Chart. Remember, the Steelers traded up a few spots for Broderick Jones for a 4th round pick, and the pick number was higher than 21. So the value would have been equal to, if not more than, this trade where the Steelers garner a 3rd round pick.
I like the 2 round mock I did for Jeff’s article better, I traded back with AZ, and for #21 I ended up with:
Xavier Watts (S- ND) at #47
Shemar Turner (DT, Texas A&M) at #78
Cam Skattebo (RB, AZ St) at #83
Arizona’s 2026 2nd round pick
This was done through a simulator, and at the end of the 3rd round, Will Howard was still available. I’d rather take a swing at him in the 4th round than a guy like Milroe with our first round pick.
Everyone is thrilled with Milroe’s talents and athleticism, but I have to say what he put on tape at Alabama was some bright spots surrounded by a whole lot of “meh”. With a school that’s never got a shortage of top talent on the roster.
Oops! 3 round mock, not 2.
Those are plausible selections. I like that you got a 2nd for next year. Not sure AZ would trade up that high in real life, but I get that it’s just a simulator.
Give me DJ Giddens! Anyways, cant get myself to get excited about a first round qb.
I fully agree.
Giddens would be great. He and Donovan Edwards are my two hopefuls at RB for the Steelers.
