2024 Steelers Exit Interviews: Logan Lee and Isaiahh Loudermilk
The Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 NFL season has come to a close. Because the Steelers are among the 31 teams who did not finish fulfilling their ultimate goal, they are in the process of wrapping up their season and moving forward into 2025.
Since the Steelers conduct exit interviews with all their players, and the fact I have done these articles in the past, we thought we would do them yet again here at Steel Curtain Network. By outlining two players each day, we will be able to look at their season in retrospect as well as looking toward the future. Since Coach Tomlin has previously stated he starts his interviews with rookies and those heading into free agency, we will attempt to do the same to some degree. To start, we will pair the most recent draftees with another player at the same position (if possible) as we work through this process to eventually cover the entire Steelers roster.
Next up are defensive tackles Logan Lee and Isaiahh Loudermilk.
Logan Lee
Position: Guard
Years with the Steelers: 1
Years in the NFL: 1
Contract Status: Signed through 2027
Contract Details: $895,018 salary cap hit for 2025. Would cost the Steelers $165,054 in dead money if released and save $729,964.
Games played in 2023: 0 regular season
Games started in 2023: 0 regular season
Snaps (regular season): None
PFF score: N/A (50.3 in preseason)
Notable stats: Lee had 2 tackles in two preseason games.
Notes: It was going to be difficult for Logan Lee to find himself as a significant part of the Steelers defensive line rotation in his first season. Chances are he was going to be inactive a lot on game day, so when he was dealing with injury it made sense to just put him on the Reserve/Injured List outside of taking him away from practicing. Is he someone who can contribute to the Steelers defensive line going forward? I don’t know. The Steelers need some help at the top of the depth chart, and Lee appeared to be someone who was hanging around the bottom. As a sixth round draft pick, Lee will have to show some definite potential for contributing to land with the team into September this coming season.
Isaiahh Loudermilk
Position: Guard
Years with the Steelers: 4
Years in the NFL: 4
Contract Status: Free Agent
Contract Details: Contract expiring with no dead money.
Games played in 2023: 16 regular season
Games started in 2023: 0 regular season
Snaps (regular season): 222 (defense), 156 (special teams)
PFF score: 59.3 (DNQ for ranking)
Notable stats: Loudermilk had 17 tackles and one pass defensed in 2024.
Notes: When the Steelers traded back into the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft to take Isaiahh Loudermilk, it had a number of people scratching their heads. But because they did it, there were some who hoped the Steelers could find a way to turn Loudermilk into a big contributor on the Steelers defense. Instead, Lowdermilk held a spot in the bottom of the rotation and was even inactive one game this season. For this reason, there’s no upside of bringing him back on a second contract outside of a veteran salary benefit contract where he would have to earn a spot on the roster. This could also be a case where it is better for both parties to just go their separate ways.
